Seconds pass and moments go by,
Hunger passes and sleep comes to an end,
Happiness is fleeting and sadness abides only for awhile,
But you Lord are everlasting.
So with our transient presence here,
Father, grant us the grace to worship.
Like the stars across the heavens let our praises be-
In multitude and in beauty.
“Sometimes, those who have the least, give the most; because what they give, is all they have.” – Makafui.
In solemn silence, I wait and listen to hear You speak;
With intellectual sobriety, I consider Your words as they bring me wisdom;
In solemn silence, and eager patience, I wait for the manifestation of Your miracles;
In solemn silence, where Your spirit empowers, I bear to overcome;
In solemn silence, Your intentions are made known – loud and clear;
“The most harmless looking battlefield is usually the most dangerous.” – Makafui.
And here we are…
Yes, here we are;
Caught in this fleeting period of time dubbed ‘now’;
Where all choices are made – here and now;
Whilst there’s still breath and strength.
“The mind is, and has always been the greatest battlefield; because that is where one fights for his soul.” – Makafui.
The lines have been drawn,
And suddenly, sides must be taken.
In realms seen and unseen battles are undertaken.
In places dark and murky a light has shown.
Resolutions must be made in the plains of inconsistencies.
“Which do you believe, that the world is an infinitely long chain of coincidences or that there is an orchestrator? One is terrifying, the other incredible.” – Makafui.
It is the little things and the big things;
It is the sleepless nights and dreary days;
That shave and chafe the will;
Even as He mends and heals my ills.
“Sometimes you just need to listen.
Yes, you, I know you think you listen really well,
But you do not listen nearly well enough.
If you did, you would know that I’m always speaking;
Not always in words, but I do speak.
Quiet down. Calm down. Be still.
Then you will hear, and know, and believe.
