There are days when the Word comes like a gentle breeze – cooling and refreshing;
There are days when it comes like thunder – with warnings and reprimands;
There are days when it comes like rain – blessing and softening;
Every day it is like the sun – bringing Light and Life.
A gentle breeze catches up to me in the silence of dawn,
Carrying with it an unidentifiable fragrance, and nostalgia.
Thundering follows, preceded by flashes of insight – enlightening, jarring, poignantly unmistakable.
Rain comes, settling the dust, softening the land, preparing and providing;
The sun comes up eventually, bringing Light and Life, evidenced by the new sprouts, and the songs of birds.
It smells of opportunity for fruitfulness .
It is another gift bestowed – a gift sometimes taken for granted.
