It arouses conflicting emotions in me
When I realize that it was necessary
To set aside a day to acknowledge and appreciate you
When it should really be done each day
…so I am sad, and I am glad.

I realize I probably haven’t said
Or shown how much I appreciate your presence in my life
So I’m taking this chance to say, I really do respect and appreciate you
…makes me sad, though I’m glad.

God really knew what He was doing when He created you
And He knew what He was talking about
When He said is was good when He was done;
So it really hurts to come to terms
With how the ‘world’ became blind
To it’s only truly priceless gems
…so I am sad, and I’m glad for this day.
