Thank You

Some say words are cheap; I disagree in part;
For my words are heavy and expensive,
Because they are not entirely mine.
I’m learning to let mine simmer
In the broth of truth over the fires of faith.

I have been disillusioned about this world for as long as I can remember;
I have no treasures that I can touch, because I would hate for this world
To tarnish the things that I treasure. I treasure great memories,
But those priceless pearls are few and elusive.

I treasure love, kindness, thoughtfulness, consideration.
But I’ve found them rare, hidden in layers of fear,
Damaged by disappointments. Some buried so deep,
That it would take eternity to unearth without Grace.
Even what I give, I find hard to treasure; What you see
When you look at me, is the marvelous workings of Grace.

Many say that words are cheap; But truly,
The only cheap words are those said without intent,
And not followed by action, and not nurtured.
So I say the greatest words I know:
“God Bless You!”
With as much intent as I can muster,
For I believe that nothing I can ever do
Would ever match what He can do with our words
If we all believe with earnest intent.
“God Bless You!!!”
