Prayer #6

Thank You for touching me
When I’d grown numb from disappointments;
For pulling me up from the pit of depression;
For cutting me out of the belly of hopelessness;
For wrestling me from the arms of despair.
I’m grateful for Your smile
That dispelled the brooding darkness;
For Your words that struck
Those long silent strings of my heart,
Bringing to life the chords of joy suppressed and sickly.
I’ve missed those harmonies that only You can make.
I think I went and forgot
That my heart is an instrument best played by You,
And ought to be played by You alone.

Light shines brightest where its darkest.
In the quiet and dark, please teach me to follow Your Light.
