Quote #46

“Heavy lies the crown of fear on the shoulders of the hopeless. It weighs down the thoughts and steps, shortens the arms and blinds the eyes. Fear feeds itself with kin and kind, till all that’s left is absolute despair. The crown of peace is a crown of reeds – light and friendly, almost a halo. Readily available, but easily taken off. Adorn your heart in royal apparel, and don on the crown of peace each day’s dawn.” – Makafui.

I Want You; Come To Me (II)

“Come to Me, with all your cares and burdens;
I am able, and desire to give you rest from all shackles;
To take away the stained wrinkled rags that cloth with shame;
These chains you carry do not befit My bride.

Draw close to Me; Abide in My presence patiently;
I want to share secrets and mysteries with you;
Wait on me to receive all that I have for you,
Gifts I’d prepared since the foundations of the earth.

A Father’s Loss (II)

And heard things that cannot be put into words
I’ve taken steps falteringly, seemingly aimlessly
To a destination that couldn’t be surer.

Quote #36

“Peace calls out each morning for my attention, promising comfort and strength for the day on the breath of dawn; Sometimes I respond, sometimes I choose to sleep just a little bit more. One too many times I missed the call. The more I missed, the fainter the call became; The more I slept, the harder I became of hearing; Till the morning was silent – silent, but not peaceful. Then Peace thundered and broke the silence when I was on the verge of forgetting what Peace was. May my mornings never be silent, but always peaceful.” – Makafui.

#Isaiah 26:3

When Things Fall Apart…Or Not.

When my heart becomes Yours and Your taste lingers on my tongue;
Because You’ve wooed me, and called me to taste and see how sweet.

When I breathe in Your presence with each passing breath;
Feel it pass from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet – empowering.

When I feel Your caress with every rubbing of my clothes,
Reminding me even in the darkest of moments how close You really are.

The Pen And The Sword (I)

What is there to glean from this realm?
What sense and direction is inherent in this plane;
Where the air gets cloggier by the day,
And morals blurrier by the hour;
Where so much is known, but very little is used or understood?
Really, what are we doing,
Sacrificing long-term health for short-term convenience and luxury?
